Profile

Floor Gres is a ceramic industry established in 1962 at Fiorano Modenese as an initiative of the engineer Giovanni Lucchese, who is responsible for the introduction in Italy of the wet extrusion process for the production of Klinker tiles and the use, in 1967, of the technology for producing white-body single-fired tiles using the spray-drying method, still one of the most widely used in the ceramic tile industry today.

In 1976 Floor Gres created the Swimming Pool Division, for the realisation of swimming facilities of all kinds and sizes.

Since 1981 Floor Gres is dedicated to the production of porcelain stoneware, a material with outstanding technical and aesthetic properties which immediately began to dominate the market thanks to its wide range of potential applications.

In 1992, from the merger between Floor Gres and Cerim, Florim Ceramiche SpA is established which, in a short time, becomes world-wide leader in the production of ceramic tiles.

Floor Gres is today a world-wide recognised trademark, thanks to the continuous technological evolution, the achieved technical/aesthetical synthesis and the ability to offer global design solutions.
